Alicia Keys releases Empire State of Mind Part II

12 x Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys releases ‘Empire State of Mind Part II’ on February 22nd. ‘Empire State Of Mind Part I’ with Jay Z was one of the biggest hits of 2009, and now she will release her own version of the song, taken from her brand new album ‘The Element Of Freedom’.

Alicia describes ‘The Element Of Freedom’ as a dichotomy of strength and vulnerability: “The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate,” states Keys. Alicia Keys will be touring the UK in May including two dates at the O2 arena.

Jason Derulo returns with new single 'In My Head'

'Whatcha Say', one of the biggest airplay hits of 2009, entered the charts at #3. Now Jason Derülo looks poised to land a second major hit with the February 22nd release of his new single 'In My Head'.

The track places far more emphasis on Derülo's soaring vocal talents, with his naturally soulful tones building a melody and a hook even more insistent than the instantly addictive 'Whatcha Say'. If his last single made Jason Derülo one of the world's hottest new stars, 'In My Head' proves that he can keep the hits coming.

Clipse return with 'Til the Casket Drops'

The Clipse are rap's reigning poet laureates, the casual listener may only recall the 2002 anthem "Grindin" when the brothers, with The Neptunes, signalled a new day in rap. The Clipse have shown not only innovation, but tenacity. With their third label release Til The Casket Drops released on March 29th, the Clipse stand as the proverbial oasis on rap's arid landscape.

Til The Casket Drops is much more than an ambitious mouthful; it's a problem for any rap act thinking of releasing an album in 2010 and beyond. Malice's description cuts right to the bone: "It's expanding and experimental but at the same time it can't be faulted. It's risky but it ain't because we mastered it. Most people in our position would've let the forces that 'be' ruin them. People ask how we stay around so long. Because it's easy!" Sounds lie he's good. So too, so two, are the Clipse!

So Solid return...

So Solid, unquestionably the most influential British urban act of the 21st century, are back with a new single and album, still blazing a trail that others can only follow but never quite match. After stepping back from the spotlight a few years back to watch what they had created seep its way into the British mainstream and dominate not only the charts but all youth culture, founding members Mega, Romeo and Lisa Maffia have decided to regroup and re-energise.

The results are scintillating. First single from their as-yet-untitled new album is 'Since You Went Away', a liquid slice of street-smart R&B, smooth and rough in equal measures.

It's like stroking a cat that suddenly reveals its claws, like Mary J. Blige serenading Wu Tang Clan, and it's lethally addictive. Listen to it once, and realise this: it's good to have them back.

Kosha takes us back to the 90's with his brilliant new single 'Old Skool', out on November 30th. Kosha has a very distinctive and unique style, his ability to effortlessly sing and rap, interchanging between the two in his very own twang with the same level of skill, is one of a kind.

Raekwon Interview

Though many of the legendary Wu Tang clan founding members went on to drop successful, critically acclaimed solo projects, none matched the game-changing impact of Raekwons 95 debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. In addition to selling more than 1.1 million copies in the US alone, the seminal LP set the standard and established the vocabulary for Mafioso epics to follow.

Now signed to EMI, the Chef is finally prepared to serve up his second musical masterpiece. On his recent promo tour in London we got a chance to catch up with the chef to talk about his latest offering to the masses, his thoughts on records sales, Respect in the Game and more.Read the full interview with Raekwon here...

D.N.A. is a sexy and honest collection that resonates with topics of love, relationships, and heartbreak; replete with a versatile yet distinctive Mario sound that critics and fans have grown to adore.  "Being a vocalist and being able to express myself in ways that a lot of artists can't do is in my DNA – literally and creatively," states Mario.  "I think that my growth is evident through my music and that's what D.N.A. is all about.  Showing that growth and having that conversation with my fans."

Mariah Carey releases new album 'Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel'

Mariah Carey's new album; 'Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel' is out on 16 November. Described as one of the strongest statements of her career, this stunning new album follows "E=MC˛", and 10 million selling "The Emancipation of Mimi."

Mariah has collaborated with both The-Dream and Tricky Stewart to write and produce the entire album with just one exception. The album 'Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel' combines a mixture of instantly memorable wistful ballads with 'H.A.T.E U' and 'Candy Bling', the up tempo catchy 'Standing O' and the no nonsense 'Up out of my face' to name but a few.

A powerful rendition of the Foreigner's classic, "I want to know what love is" will be the second single. Mariah has sold over 200 million records worldwide so far making her the most successful female artist of all time.

Alesha Dixon releases 'To Love Again'

'To Love Again' - the new single from Alesha Dixon - combines two great powerhouses of British Pop: debutante solo artist Dixon (whose debut The Alesha Show has produced hits including 'Breathe Slow' and 'The Boy Does Nothing'); and Gary Barlow – the UK's King of Pop, with multi-million selling albums 'The Circus' and 'Beautiful World' for Take That and sold out stadium tours under his belt.

Alesha says:
It's no secret that I've been a fan of Gary's work for many years. It was a complete honour to write with him and John Shanks. I was excited to see them at work. For me 'To Love Again' was the perfect song to write with Gary.

It is a personal song to me with an emotional connection. Somehow he was able to tap into this and draw it out of me. It's a vulnerable song with the message of hope! This has been a dream come true, more than they'll ever know!

Joe 'Majic'

With his 15 years in the scene, Joe has provided music for every moment of life... his music plays the role of the most reliable friend when it comes to a break up, being loved up or even when you just want to party it up! So it was pleasure to lay back and listen to the sounds of his 2009 album 'Signature'. Thankfully with Joe it's not only his smooth looks that have remained the same over time; his soulful, varied yet distinctive sound stays intact.

Joel Culpepper Interview

Revealing new talent straight outta London - Joel is the quintessential backpacker, headphones in the ears, sitting at the back of the class lost in the world that his headphones has exposed him to. Now emerging from the UK's cutting edge live scene with a stance of "musical domination by any means necessary" the south east London based singer at 18 had travelled to new York and back with major label interest. Now at 25 has grown in his own sound as  he writes, sings, dances and backed by his amazing band called "The Transformers".

His shows are thrilled with high energy, catchy songs and a lasting impression that will soon have new listeners saying, have you heard of Joel Culpepper? Click here to read the full interview.

Jay-Z: The Blueprint 3

We've all been waiting for it and come Monday it'll be on the shelves for all to buy, hear and judge. The Blueprint 3 is making a stir, the album mixes sounds and almost has different personalities.

With Drake, Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Kid Cudi and of course the track that's making the noise right now; "Run This Town" with Kanye West and Rihanna being just some of the collabrations.

The album is full of his opinions on politics,
the industry, haters and god old fashioned boasting! With diverse production there are many different elements to the album that  most should be able to get on board with. Read the full review here!

Her first studio album since 2002, Houston has once again teamed up with her longtime collaborator, the legendary music business executive Clive Davis; "Almost every song is a candidate for a single" he says.

Soul music pioneer R Kelly wrote title track 'I Look To You', a classic –
